Hobrecht Sports Art offers a fine art giclée edition print, printed on high quality archival canvas with archival ink, based on Dave Hobrecht’s original charcoal painting of all-time great New York Yankees catcher, Yogi Berra.

Hobrecht's timeless and iconic depiction of Yankees great, Yogi Berra portrays the young catcher during his rookie season in 1947 as he straps on the "tools of ignorance" (catcher's gear). Berra played for 19 years in the major leagues, all with the Yankees and won 3 American League MVP awards in the 1950s. Yogi is considered the greatest catcher of all time to many baseball experts and fans, and he is beloved for his cheerful personality and humorous malaprops, or Yogi-isms. And notice the number 35 on Yogi’s stirrup sock? Although he is known for wearing the number 8, which the Yankees retired, he wore numbers 38 and 35 in first two big league seasons.

Our canvas prints are always printed on the highest quality canvas paper using archival inks. Each one is guaranteed to be high-resolution and fade-resistant.

Our Maple Wood Prints are printed directly onto a 1/4 inch-thick, maple-surfaced wood board for a warm and natural look that is also eco-friendly. Each wood print is unique, and no two prints will look exactly alike.
