Original black-and-white charcoal painting by Dave Hobrecht.
This unforgettable painting captures Clayton Kershaw at Dodger Stadium, waving to the adoring crowd as the giant video board behind him lights up with the words “3,000 Strikeouts,” marking one of the greatest milestones of his legendary career.
On July 2, 2025, Kershaw became the 20th pitcher with 3,000 strikeouts when Vinny Capra of the Chicago White Sox took a slider for a called third strike for the final out of the sixth inning. It came on his 100th and final pitch of the night, and he is just the fourth left-hander to achieve the feat, joining CC Sabathia, Randy Johnson and Steve Carlton. As he walked off the mound, the fans erupted in an ovation that lasted around six minutes, a fitting thank-you to the three-time Cy Young Award winner who had given everything to Los Angeles since his debut as a 20-year-old in 2008.
