Original black-and-white charcoal painting by Dave Hobrecht.
This painting captures Shohei Ohtani at Dodger Stadium, tossing a baseball into the air in his Dodgers uniform, with fellow Dodger Yoshinobu Yamamoto and other teammates standing behind him. The scene celebrates the remarkable wave of Japanese talent that has made Los Angeles the center of the baseball world.
After six historic seasons in Anaheim, Ohtani signed with the Dodgers ahead of the 2024 season and immediately made history, becoming the first player ever to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a single season on his way to the NL MVP and a World Series championship. Alongside him, Yamamoto established himself as one of the game’s premier aces, and together they helped carry the Dodgers to back-to-back titles.
