Dave Hobrecht's original charcoal and pastel painting of an expert surfboard shaper at work.
"Creating Surf Art" portrays a shaper carefully shaping a surfboard, as a sculptor would, making sure every angle, curve and line meets the rider's exact specifications.
Dave spent much of his youth riding the waves of his hometown, Huntington Beach, California, also known as Surf City USA. He started his career as a professional artist as Editorial Cartoonist for Surfer Magazine.
