Dave Hobrecht's original charcoal and pastel painting of James Braddock, the "Cinderella Man."

The piece shows Braddock posing for publicity shots before his 1935 title fight against Max Baer. Braddock was considered a mid to low level heavyweight when he was offered the fight, and Baer's handlers figured him to be another "tomato can." Braddock won the heavyweight title by unanimous decision in what many describe as the biggest upset in ring history.

Later, hampered by injuries, Braddock lost his title to Joe Louis. Although Braddock knocked Louis down in the first round, Louis won by knockout, the only fighter to KO Braddock. His story was told in Ron Howard's 2005 film "Cinderella Man," starring Russell Crowe.
