Dave Hobrecht's original charcoal and pastel painting of Cal Ripken Jr., Baltimore Orioles legend and baseball Hall of Famer.
Ripken set the record for most consecutive games played in baseball history, with 2,632, breaking the record of 2,130 set by Lou Gehrig that many believed to be unbeatable. He was a 19-time All Star and 2-time AL MVP, collected 3,184 hits and 431 home runs, and ushered in a new era of shortstops, like Derek Jeter, who were excellent defensively and could also hit for power and average.
Dave painted the original for Ripken, based on an image of him playing the infield that Cal hand-picked.
