In stock
Dave Hobrecht's original charcoal and pastel painting of Kirk Gibson's home run in Game 1 of the 1988 World Series.
On October 15, 1988, at Dodger Stadium, Gibson was held out of the Dodgers' lineup with injuries to both legs. Called on to pinch hit in the bottom of the ninth with two outs, he hit a two-run walk off home run against Oakland Athletics pitcher Dennis Eckersley to win the game 5-4.
Vin Scully's call: "High fly ball into right field, she is gone! In a year that has been so improbable, the impossible has happened." And later: "And now the only question was, could he make it around the base paths unassisted."
