This was the painting that started it all for Dave Hobrecht. Hobrecht spent much of his youth riding the waves of his hometown Huntington Beach, California, also known as, Surf City USA. Later, Hobrecht started his professional art career as an Editorial Cartoonist for Surfer Magazine. While on staff at the magazine, Hobrecht created his first painting, “Tree”, depicting a world-famous surf spot, Kirra.
