Hobrecht Sports Art offers a fine art giclée edition print, printed on high quality archival canvas with archival ink, based on Dave Hobrecht’s original charcoal painting of surf legend, Ian "Kanga" Cairns.

The Australian-born Cairns is a former world surf champion who dominated the sport in the 1970s and was described as "the premiere power surfer" of his era. After leaving his home in Australia, he was a long-time fixture on the North Shore in Hawaii, where he shredded his competition, helped pioneer the professional surf circuit, and forged his legend as one of the most influential surfers of all time. Hobrecht captures the great action and power of Cairns killing it on the North Shore. Hobrecht spent much of his youth riding the waves of his hometown Huntington Beach, California, also known as, Surf City USA. Hobrecht started his career as a professional artist as Editorial Cartoonist for Surfer Magazine.

Our canvas prints are always printed on the highest quality canvas paper using archival inks. Each one is guaranteed to be high-resolution and fade-resistant.
