Honus Wagner Print
Wagner is considered one of the best players of the dead ball era. He amassed 3,420 hits and a lifetime batting average of .328 in his illustrious 21 year career. Wagner was among the Baseball Hall of Fames inaugural class elected in 1936. But he may be best known as the player depicted on the most valuable baseball card in history, a 1909 American Tobacco Company card that sold to a private collector for more than $2.8 million. Hobrechts painting is a timeless and honest portrayal of one of baseballs all-time greats.
