Baltimore Orioles 1966 Print
Hobrecht captures the Baltimore Orioles celebrating their 1966 World Series victory over the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers. The depiction takes the iconic and familiar image of Brooks Robinson leaping for joy into the waiting arms of teammates, Dave McNally and Andy Etchebarren, but from a rarely seen vantage. Hobrecht spent more than 200 hours painstakingly recreating the magical moment when the Os brought home the first World Series title in the franchises history. The image is almost photographic in its realism, but Hobrechts masterful brushwork freezes an eternal magic into this memorable moment.
