A high-quality reproduction of artist Dave Hobrecht's original charcoal and pastel painting, "The Catch (4th and 9)." This scintillating image captures one of the pivotal moments in perhaps the most memorable game in the history of the storied rivalry between the USC Trojans and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, a 34-31 SC victory in the 2005 contest. With time running out in the fourth quarter, down by 4 points, the Trojans knew they needed a touchdown. When their late drive stalled, with 1:32 remaining, USC was faced with 4th down and 9 at their own 26-yard line. On that do-or-die play, Heisman Trophy winner, Matt Leinart found Dwayne Jarrett downfield for monumental 51-yard completion to the Irish 13. Four plays later, Leinart found the end zone on a quarterback keeper and with a little push from his tailback to seal the historic SC victory and preserve the Trojans undefeated record on their way to the National Championship game. The Catch (4th and 9) is the first in the trio of paintings commissioned by the University of Southern California, commemorating the legendary USC victory over Notre Dame. Available in Black.
