A high-quality reproduction of artist Dave Hobrecht's original black and white charcoal and pastel painting of New York Mets All-Star, David Wright. Wright was drafted by the Mets in 2001 and made his major league debut in 2004. Wright is a 7-time All-Star, 2-time Gold Glove Award winner, 2-time Silver Slugger Award winner, and a member of the 3030 club. He holds the Mets records for most career runs batted in, doubles, total bases, runs scored, walks, sacrifice flies, times on base, extra base hits, strikeouts, and hits. He was named captain of the Mets in 2013, the fourth in team history, and was given the nickname "Captain America" after his performance for Team USA including a grand slam in the World Baseball Classic. This Hobrecht painting of Wright was originally created for Topps Baseball Cards and featured in their 2010 National Chicle All Art Baseball Card Series. Hobrecht has created original art for several Topps all-art baseball card series, including Allen & Ginter, National Chicle and Gypsy Queen. Available in Black.
