A high-quality reproduction based on Dave Hobrecht's original charcoal and pastel painting of NCAA and NBA basketball star, Austin Carr. Austin Carr is one of the most beloved players in Cleveland Cavaliers history. He averaged 15.4 points per game in his 10-year NBA career. After being selected by the Cavs as the first overall pick in the 1971 NBA draft out of Notre Dame, Carr exploded onto the NBA scene in strong fashion. Despite being limited to just 40 games his rookie year, he averaged 21.2 PPG and made the 1972 All Rookie Team. The next two years, Carr averaged 20.5 and 21.9 points a game. Carr came to be known as "Mr. Cavalier" to Cleveland fans and is currently the Cav's color commentator. Though he had a terrific pro career, Carr was one of the greatest college basketball scorers of his time. Carr poured in 34.6 points a game for the Fighting Irish and even more impressively he averaged 41.3 PPG in his 7 career NCAA tournament games, a record that still stands and may never be matched. Carr was inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame in 2007. Available in Black.
