Hobrecht Sports Art offers a fine art giclée edition print, printed on high quality archival canvas with archival ink, based on Dave Hobrecht’s original charcoal painting, “Tree.”

This was the painting that started it all for Dave Hobrecht. Hobrecht spent much of his youth riding the waves of his hometown Huntington Beach, California, also known as, Surf City USA. Later, Hobrecht started his professional art career as Editorial Cartoonist for Surfer Magazine. While on staff at the magazine, Hobrecht created his first painting, ““Tree”, depicting world-famous surf spot, Kirra.

Upon seeing his work, the highly-respected, Surfers Journal offered Hobrecht a two-page spread in an issue featuring surf art. Shortly after, a woman called to purchase the painting, something that had previously been foreign to Hobrecht. He sold his first piece and began painting more. Hobrecht says, if it wasn't for that painting, “Tree”, the others would most likely not have followed.

The canvas prints are stretched and mounted onto wooden frames with hardware included, and are ready to hang. All prints are made and shipped directly from the Hobrecht Sports Art Gallery in Laguna Beach, California. The Medium and Large prints are signed and numbered by the artist, Dave Hobrecht.
