Hobrecht Sports Art offers a fine art giclée edition print, printed on high quality archival canvas with archival ink, based on Dave Hobrecht’s original charcoal painting of Hawaiian surfing legend, Duke Kahanmoku.

Duke is widely regarded as the grandfather of modern surfing, popularizing it not just in Hawaii but in the mainland United States, Australia and beyond. Although known today more as a legendary surfing icon and pioneer, Duke was also a 5-time Olympic medalist for the U.S. in swimming, including three Gold medals. Famed surf and sports artist, Dave Hobrecht grew up riding the waves of his hometown Huntington Beach, California, also known as, Surf City USA. He also began his career as a professional artist, as Editorial Cartoonist for Surfer Magazine.

The canvas prints are stretched and mounted onto wooden frames with hardware included, and are ready to hang. All prints are made and shipped directly from the Hobrecht Sports Art Gallery in Laguna Beach, California. The Medium and Large prints are signed and numbered by the artist, Dave Hobrecht.
