The Falcons were founded in 1966 and are one of the oldest NFL teams in the deep south. They won division championships in 1980, 1998, 2004, 2010, and 2012, and played in Superbowl XXXIII. While playing for the Falcons, Michael Vick became the first quarterback in league history to rush for more than 1,000 yards in a season. The Falcons play their home games at the Georgia Dome in downtown Atlanta.
