Hobrecht Sports Art offers a fine art giclée edition print, printed on high quality archival canvas with archival ink, based on Dave Hobrecht’s original charcoal painting of all-time hockey great, Detroit Red Wings legend and NHL Hall of Famer, Gordie Howe, Mr. Hockey.

Hobrecht’s painting captures the legendary Howe gliding effortlessly up the ice with the puck on his tape, eyes on the goal, in a dimly lit rink in the 1950s. Howe, considered by many to be the greatest hockey player ever and certainly number 2 or number 1B next to Wayne Gretzky, played 32 years of major league hockey – 26 years in the NHL and 6 seasons with the WHA, including his final season at age 52 with the Hartford Whalers in 1979-80. Howe was a 23-time NHL all-star, 4-time Stanley Cup champion with the Red Wings, 6-time Hart Trophy winner as the league’s MVP, and 6-time Art Ross Trophy winner as the league’s top scorer. Howe was truly, Mr. Hockey.

Our canvas prints are always printed on the highest quality canvas paper using archival inks. Each one is guaranteed to be high-resolution and fade-resistant.

Our Maple Wood Prints are printed directly onto a 1/4 inch-thick, maple-surfaced wood board for a warm and natural look that is also eco-friendly. Each wood print is unique, and no two prints will look exactly alike.
